Allsports.com
Allsports.com is a web site featuring
sports news, first established in 1994. The site was started by Jerry Preeper,
who had an idea of beginning a sports news site that was written entirely by
fans. From a business standpoint it made good sense, as there could be a very
large base of fan reporters who'd work voluntarily, and could create a large
enough reader base to attract advertisers, and all revenue would go straight to
Preeper. This concept worked, as sheer enthusiasm was enough to drive a wide
range of fans to write for the site.
